The DOE has just announced that middle school placements can be sent out on Monday, May 20th. If your child took our entrance exam for 6th grade for fall 2013, please look for an email from DSmiley@schools.nyc.gov by the end of that day with your notification letter. |

Due to the rain: - today’s elementary grades Track
and Field tryouts are postponed to Tuesday, April 16 from 3:30-5:00pm.
- the varsity baseball game has also been cancelled, but has not
yet been rescheduled.

Anderson Chess Night is a fun family event for K-8 students and their families! This Friday, January 4th
in our cafeteria, from 6:00-8:00 PM. No RSVP needed - just come! Enter through the main door on w. 77th St. and head to the cafeteria for chess games, food and fun
with our chess teachers/coaches from NY Chess Kids! All are welcome, from
beginners to experienced players. $5 per person is the suggested
donation. (A flyer is attached below – additional Anderson Chess related
dates are included there.) |

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29TH is the new, rescheduled again (and hopefully final!) date for Picture Retake Day. If you want your child's individual picture taken again, send
your entire photo package in with your child on this day. DO NOT SEND THE
PACKAGE IN ANY EARLIER - it may get lost! Parent volunteers will visit each
classroom that morning and escort any children getting their picture retaken to
the photographer. Your child will hand
the package back to the photographer and sit for a new photo. |

Anderson's boys and girls soccer teams both won their first games of the season today: a 3 -2 win for the boys and a 1 -0 win for the girls! Congratulations and keep up the good work! |

Teachers only started back to work on Tuesday, September 4th. They had to attend professional development sessions, faculty meetings and set up their classrooms. They have not had time to update their class/grade pages, but they will be doing so as soon as they get instruction well underway - obviously, that is our priority at this point! For those of you looking for online homework assignments: Engrade accounts are being set up students who do not already have one, and the log-on information will be sent home shortly. Please be patient. |
