If you ranked Anderson on your G&T application, then your child is already on the wait list for our school and for every other school you ranked, as well. There is nothing more for you to do.
If a seat opens at any school you ranked higher than the one in which your child was placed (or any school you ranked, if your child didn’t receive a placement) and if your child’s name is next on the list for that school, then the DOE (or the school, which is new this year) will contact you directly to offer the seat. It’s automatic and this process will be in effect until mid-October. The waitlists were ordered by the lottery and are in a computer system – they cannot be altered by anyone. Schools have not been given access to their lists yet.
If you were offered a G&T program that you prefer over your local school, go ahead and register your child there. If something opens up at another school and your child is in line for that seat, you will get called – you will not forfeit because you have registered elsewhere.
