If your child was offered a seat at The Anderson School for fall 2012 in grades K-2, please click the title above.

Welcome to The Anderson School, P.S. 334!  There are several things we need you to do:

TOUR
Every parent whose child has been offered a seat at The Anderson School PS 334 (grades K-2) is welcome to take a morning tour of the school on Thursday, May 31st or Friday, June 1st. Although touring is not mandatory in order to register, it is highly encouraged in order to make a well-informed decision about whether to accept the seat, especially if you have not yet visited the school. (Both parents may attend, but no children.) Parent Coordinator Marcie Shaw will be sending out email confirmations on a rolling basis beginning Friday afternoon, May 25th - please be patient! Click here to sign up for a tour.

NOTIFY US
Once you have made your final decision about whether or not you will accept your child’s seat at Anderson, please email Donna Smiley and Marcie Shaw at: DSmiley@schools.nyc.gov and MShaw6@schools.nyc.gov . We need to hear from you – yes or no – by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5th.

REGISTER
We will be registering new students on Tuesday, June 5th and Thursday, June 7th. Please do not worry about the language in the DOE's placement letter to you, which states that you must "pre-register" before June 5th! Y
our seat is secure as long as you have done the following by 4:00 PM on June 5th: 1.) signed up for an appointment to register your child at the school and 2.) emailed us that you are accepting your seat. (Your child must be present at registration, unless he or she attended a DOE school or pre-K this year.)  Make an appointment here by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5th to register your child or you will forfeit your seat at The Anderson School. (This webpage may take a moment to open up.)

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
We highly recommend that you and your child attend our
Kindergarten orientation. New students will visit a Kindergarten classroom (without parents) while we brief you about the start of school. This is a wonderful way for your child to see where he or she will be attending school in the fall and it really helps the transition to "big kid" school by dispelling any anxious feelings about what to expect in September. Confirm your attendance from 2:00-3:00 PM on Monday, June 11th by filling out this very brief form. Picnic immediately follows (see below.)

K-2 WELCOME PICNIC
On Monday, June 11th from 3:00-5:00 PM (following the Kindergarten Orientation) our PTA will host a welcome picnic for new families in grades K-2. There will be play time on our school yard equipment and entertainment will follow! Use the link provided above under 'Kindergarten Orientation" to let us know that you'll be attending.

PARENT WELCOME PARTY
An invitation to the PTA parents-only welcome cocktail party will be emailed to you after June 7th. It will be held on Monday, June 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at a venue near the school.
