Anderson was the only elementary school invited to represent District 3 in the NYC STEM Expo on June 3, 2024. Accompanied by Lego Robotics teacher, Ms. Yang, the students presented their project and explored projects from different districts. They had a great time and learned a lot!
The middle school Lego Robotics team consists of 11 students who went to the city's qualifying round at which they received a Golden Ticket to go to the city finals. At the city finals, the team ranked first in the Innovation Project. The team then went to the First Lego League's city finals in which they placed fifth out of fifty schools. Their fifth place standing led to them being accepted into The American Robotics Competition on May 18th and May 19th, 2024.
The team is funded by DYCD and run by Manhattan Youth in partnership with Steamworks and The Anderson School.
